MBBS Admission Notice 2024

More than 80,000 students are set to participate in the Medical MBBS Admission Test on February 9, 2024, as reported by the Directorate General of DGHS. DGHS has provided information indicating that there are a total of 5,380 seats available in the 31 public medical colleges and 6,225 seats in the 69 private medical colleges across the country.

MBBS Admission 2024 Requirements

To be eligible to apply, candidates must be Bangladeshi citizens who completed SSC or an equivalent examination in 2020 or 2021 and HSC or an equivalent examination (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) in 2022 or 2023. If the completion of SSC occurred before 2020, individuals are not eligible to apply.

General candidates are required to have a minimum total GPA of 9.0 in SSC and HSC or equivalent, with at least a GPA of 3.5 in each of SSC and HSC in the Bangladesh & Foreign Education Program.

For tribal and non-tribal candidates from Chittagong Hill Tracts districts, the eligibility criterion is a total GPA of 8.0 in SSC and HSC or equivalent. Applications will not be accepted if the GPA is below 3.50 individually. This rule also applies to foreign students seeking admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges.

All candidates must have a GPA of 4.0 in Biology at the HSC level.

MBBS Result 2024 (Result DGHS Gov BD)

To check your MBBS Result for the year 2023, follow these steps on the official website result.dghs.gov.bd:

1. Visit the website result.dghs.gov.bd.
2. Choose the MBBS option.
3. Enter your admission test roll number.
4. Click the result button.

Upon doing so, you will be able to view your result, including your score, merit positions, admission test marks, and the name of the allotted medical college if you have been nominated for admission.

Medical Result by SMS

To check your Medical Result for 2023 through SMS, follow the instructions provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The DGHS will send a message to inform successful candidates about the MBBS Result. Only those who scored 40% or more in the admission test will be included in the merit list. The merit list, containing 33,860 candidates, has been released.

Please note that the result has been sent to the mobile number provided by candidates during the application process. Applicants are not allowed to send any SMS to inquire about the result. The DGHS will notify successful candidates directly.

MBBS Merit List 

The selection of students for medical school in 2023 is determined by their performance in a written admission test, as well as their scores in the SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent Examinations. The total marks considered for the selection process include 100 for the written test, 75 for SSC results, and 125 for HSC equivalent results. However, candidates who scored less than 40 marks in the admission test did not qualify for inclusion in the list. This year, a total of 48,975 candidates successfully passed the Medical Admission Test, and 4,350 seats were allocated for them.

Medical Admission Waiting List

The waiting list for medical admissions in 2023 is now available alongside the admission results. Initially, admissions are granted based on merit, and once this process concludes, the waiting list becomes operational. Those on the merit list must complete their admission in the specified medical college. If, for any reason, they are unable to secure admission in their chosen college, their seat becomes vacant, and a candidate from the waiting list takes their place.

Successful candidates who secure admission in the designated college may later have the option to transfer. In the case of private medical colleges, admissions will commence after the government medical colleges have completed their admission process. Each private medical college will release a separate admission notice and admit students based on their merit scores.

Medical Re-scrutiny Application

If you are dissatisfied with your Medical Admission Result, you have the option to request a review. Follow these steps within the specified time frame:

1. Apply for a re-scrutiny using Teletalk Mobile.
2. Challenge the result by submitting your application along with the required fee.
3. Detailed information and instructions about challenging the Medical Admission Result can be found on the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) website.

The application period for re-scrutiny begins on March 15, and the deadline is March 20, 2023. The fee for the re-scrutiny application is 1000 taka, and you can pay it through Teletalk Pre-paid Mobile SIM. To apply, send a text message from your mobile phone by typing DGHS <space> RSC <space> Admission Roll Number to 16222. Once you receive a PIN Number, send a second message with DGHS <space> RSC <space> YES <space> PIN Number to 16222.

Medical Migration Result 2023

The results for Medical Migration in 2023 have been officially announced today, on May 7, 2023. Initially, the Migration Result for MBBS 1st has been released, encompassing the list of students eligible for admission in Government Medical Colleges for MBBS and BDS courses.

The combined MBBS and BDS migration list for 2023 has been published to fill vacant seats in these courses. This year, there are 334 open positions in government medical colleges in Bangladesh, and these vacancies have been successfully filled by students from the migration and waiting lists.

In total, there are 4,350 seats in Government Medical Colleges in Bangladesh. Out of these, 45 seats had no admissions, and 289 students' admissions were canceled. The first phase of migration has effectively filled 334 seats.

The MBBS Migration Result, also known as the merit list, is available on the Directorate of Health Education website. Selected students will also receive notifications via SMS.
