Admission Test Venue: 

The admission tests for the remaining three units, excluding the Charukola (Fine Arts) Unit, will be held in eight divisional cities, with Dhaka being one of them. These divisional centers comprise Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barisal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, and Begum Rokeya University.

Dhaka University Admission Units

The admission test for the first-year Bachelor (Honors) program at Dhaka University will now be conducted in four restructured units, following the latest decision. The four admission test components are now organized as:


1. Arts, Law, and Social Science Unit

2. Science Unit

3. Business Studies Unit

4. Fine Arts Unit

DU Admission Requirements

The University of Dhaka (DU) has revised its minimum entrance exam criteria by increasing the minimum GPA requirement, effective from the preceding academic year. Eligible candidates for admission are those who have successfully completed the SSC/equivalent examination between 2018 and 2021 and the HSC/equivalent examination in 2023 from any group. The entry requirements for each unit are outlined below:

For Science Background

To qualify for admission, applicants must have attained a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Furthermore, the cumulative GPA, incorporating additional subjects, should be no less than 8.00.

For Humanities & Business Studies Background
Candidates from Arts and Commerce backgrounds are eligible to apply for this unit, provided they have secured a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Moreover, the overall GPA, incorporating additional subjects, should be at least 7.50.

Arts, Law and Social Science Unit



For Humanities Background


To qualify for admission, applicants must have attained a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Furthermore, the cumulative GPA, incorporating additional subjects, should be no less than 7.50.

For Science & Business Studies Background
For eligibility in this unit, science students must secure a combined GPA in their secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (including the 4th subject) of 8.0, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 individually. Conversely, commerce students need a combined GPA of 7.5, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 individually, to qualify for admission.

Business Studies Unit

For Business Studies Background

Applicants are required to attain a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Furthermore, the overall GPA, encompassing additional subjects, should be at least 7.50.

For Humanities & Science Background


For admission to this unit, science students need a combined GPA of 8.0 in their secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (including the 4th subject), with a minimum GPA of 3.5 individually. In contrast, commerce students are required to have a combined GPA of 7.5, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 individually.

 Fine Arts Unit


Applicants are required to have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Moreover, the overall GPA, incorporating additional subjects, should be at least 6.50.

DU New Marks Distribution

The Dhaka University admission authority has declared that 20 marks will be allotted to applicants based on their GPA in the ongoing year's admission test. This entails that the GPA marks will be computed from the candidates' GPA obtained in both their SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations.
